Update From Director Nick Doak!

Hi everybody! It’s Nick Doak, Director of West Chester Music Academy, with another monthly update. The big news is that we were voted Chester County’s Best Music Lessons 2022 for the 2nd year in a row. I want to thank all of our parents, students, and teachers that voted for us for this award and recognition. We’re so thankful for this, and it’s just so awesome. We are so thankful to be able to serve the West Chester community and beyond with our love and passion for teaching music. Thank you parents and students for the opportunity each week.
Winter Recital
We’re so excited for our annual Winter Recital this Sunday December 4th and next Sunday, December 11th! As a reminder, the WCMA Winter Recital 2022 will be held at West Chester University Wells School of Music (Swope Music Building) in the Ware Family Recital Hall.
There are 4 recitals on December 4th: 12pm, 1:30pm, 3pm, and 4:30pm. There will also be 3 recitals on December 11th: 11am, 12:30pm, and 2pm. Swope Music Building: 817 S. High Street West Chester, PA 19383
Each recital will start promptly at the specified times. It is estimated that each recital will be about 45 minutes.
Attire and Arrival: Performers are free to wear what they'd like. Most students choose to wear semi-formal to formal attire. There will be a red carpet walk and a professional photographer. Please arrive at least 15-20 min prior to your recital time to allow time to park, find the recital hall, tune instruments, and acclimate to the environment. Do NOT forget to bring your music/instrument.

Now Hosting Music Fun Time Classes!
Music FunTime offers unique and proven-effective preschool and young child music classes for children 18 months to 5 years of age. The structured, comprehensive curriculum incorporates music theory (reading staff music, rhythm, note values, time signatures, etc.) and application (playing rhythm instruments, keyboard, sing along, music appreciation, movement). It accesses children's learning through their brain's 'play center,' using themed games, attractive visuals, and delightful auditory aids that make learning exciting and fun. Kids look forward to it!

Can't make your Lesson!? No worries--We have you covered!
If you physically, cannot attend your scheduled weekly lesson, we have 4 great options for you:
1. Zoom in for your lesson at your scheduled lesson time, or
2. Receive a customized recorded video lesson (must be notified before lesson time), or
3. Sublease your spot to a family member or friend.
4. Attend any of our hour-long group make-up lessons held every weekend. The group make-ups are unlimited and can be attended at any point throughout the year, both in advance or retroactively.

And, don't forget about our referral program. If you refer a friend or family member to us, we'll give you your choice of: $25 to Target, $25 to Amazon, or FREE additional lesson voucher. Whichever you prefer! Be sure to refer your family and friends, and thank you for your referrals.

West Chester Music Academy is the ONLY music school in southeastern PA that gives their students the opportunity to earn special color wristband bracelets (kids and teens love them!), trophies AND certificates for passing musical tests with the Musical Ladder System®. It has been awarded multiple patents and is being used by schools nationwide. Do other schools offer trophies and certificates? A few. But none of them inspire their students with smiling faces by giving them full color, really cool "Musical Ladder System®" wristbands that they can show off to their friends.

The Musical Ladder System® is a national music lesson award system proven to help students get excited about music and keep parents 'informed' as to how they are doing.
Similar to karate belt tests, every 3 months or so your teacher will schedule a test for you or your child. If the students passes the test, they will receive one of these really cool wristbands for their level. They also get a certificate of achievement.
This program has been proven for years to bring a smile to parents and students and we're very excited about enhancing your music lesson experience. At certain levels they also get personalized trophies with their name on it.
This system also comes complete with the Musical Ladder System® Parent/Student Portal so you can log in online and see when the next test is, recital, send notes to your teachers, review past lesson notes and more! This will take parent communication to the next level!
The best part? It's all FREE for you, our valued clients. Most karate schools charge their clients $50.00 per test....PER test! However, all of your wristbands, trophies, certificates and online accounts are all FREE and part of your WCMA tuition.

Holiday Closings 2022
Spring Break: We will be closed for Spring Break from April 13th, 2022 to April 19th, 2022.
Memorial Day: We will be closed for Memorial Day on May 30th, 2022.
Summer Break: We will be closed for Summer Break from July 3rd, 2022 to July 7th, 2022.
Thanksgiving Break: We will be closed for Thanksgiving Break from November 22nd, 2022 to November 27th, 2022.
Winter Break: We will be closed for Winter Break from December 22nd, 2022 to January 1st, 2023.
There are no makeups for the above break closings as tuition is based upon a 48 week year. During the months that you have 5 lessons, we do not charge you more. During the months that you have 3 lessons, we do not charge you less. If you have any questions, please refer to the Policies and Procedures. Don't forget to practice during the breaks! :-) |
