Spring is just around the corner here in Portland, OR, which is the perfect time to bring in NEW programs while continuing to cultivate our already incredible offerings. I am so excited!! We are in the process of finalizing new groups and courses for our community to begin this spring. They include: 

  • An Adoptee-Only Estrangement Support Group. Open to adoptees at any level of estrangement, beginning May 2024. Stay tuned for more information. Subscribe for updates.

  • Navigating Estrangement (for adoptive parents) beginning May 2024. Learn More.

  • New Monday Better Together Group! A place where the adoption constellation comes together to Do The Work. Click here to enroll (only former Conscious Adoptive Parent course participants are eligible to attend)

Last and definitely not least, this past Saturday, March 2nd we hosted a wonderful Adoptee Social in downtown Portland, OR. We had people from all over the Pacific Northwest attend (people came from Roseburg, Eugene, Seattle and of course the Portland area). If you missed this past event, MARK your calendars for our remaining 2024 adoptee socials on June 1st, September 7th, and December 7th. Come eat, drink, connect, and laugh with us!

AKAP Book Talk

Adult Korean Adoptees of Portland (AKAP) has the unique pleasure of hosting author, professor, and fellow Korean adoptee, Sara Docan-Morgan, on March 23, 2024 from 11am - 12:30pm for an in-person book talk at the Northwest branch of the Multnomah County Library.

Sara will be reading an excerpt from the book, talking about her experience, about reunions, and answer any questions the group may have. RSVP.

AIREroots Game Night

Get to know other BIPOC adoptees while playing board games, karaoke and a nacho bar! (Please bring your favorite games!)

Shades of Belonging Community Festival

Shades of Belonging is a community-centered research project that examines the intersections of race, religion, and sense of belonging among Jewish Adoptees of Color. The research will conclude with this community festival to celebrate and uplift the experiences of Jews of Color; particularly as they relate to adoption.

Hosted at the beautiful Skirball Cultural Center, this will be a multi-faceted event intended to build community among Jewish adoptees, Jewish people of color, their families, and allies. Through a program that includes a presentation of the Shades of Belonging study, exhibits and performances from JOC artists, food, music and fun, this family-friendly festival is designed increase awareness of and connection to the true diversity and complex beauty within our LA Jewish community.
