Summer is quickly approaching and I am so excited to launch into a new season with so many opportunities in front of us and so much amazing success behind us. 

We recently concluded our first revamped adoptive parent course - Conscious Adoption: Lifelong Tools for Successful Parenting. During this course we had the opportunity to dig deep in a very unique way because of diverse perspectives of our group; from pre-adopt to seasoned parents. In April, we also hosted a wonderful panel about adoptees and aging. Both of these interactions reminded me of the amazing ability we have to host and be part of intergenerational education. These conversations are nuanced and remind us that regardless of where you are within your lived experience as an adoptee, we stand to learn and be supported by one another.  Thank you to all who were able to support this past month’s course and event. 

I look forward to learning from and supporting my fellow adoptees and constellation members at the KAAN conference in Chicago, IL. Adoption Mosaic will be presenting two different panels. I will also be traveling to North Carolina for the Birth Mom Collective Retreat. I am humbled and honored to have been invited to speak at this retreat and look forward to connecting with a few people as I make my way to two different states in early summer months. 

I also hope to see my local community at our upcoming Adoptee Only Pizza Party on June 3, 2023 in my backyard in Portland, OR. Adoptees, this is your excuse to visit Portland! Let me know if you need help finding a spare bed. We have a wonderful, welcoming community here who are happy to host fellow adoptees. 

Reminder! Adoption Mosaic will be taking a summer break (June, July, and August) from our We the Experts: Online Panel Series, so make sure to tune into the May panels: Adoption Disruption & Dissolution and an adoptee ally panel of birth/first parents. Registration details below. We will be back online September 9, 2023 with a panel of BIPOC, same race adoptees.
