February is a short month and I made the most of all 28 days! I traveled to Denver, CO for two weeks and connected with so many wonderful people. While in Denver, Adoption Mosaic hosted our first post-pandemic in-person Adoptee Social. It was great chance to reconnect with each other, meet new people, and to laugh and learn. I'm looking forward to hosting another Denver event soon! Thank you to all the local adoptees who helped make the night a success.
I also facilitated two We the Experts panel discussions in February, “Adoptees & Divorce” and “Partners of Adoptees”. I was ecstatic that the “Partners of Adoptees” panel peaked the interest of 137 registrants - a We the Experts record! Another big thank you to all nine of our panelists for sharing their much needed stories and perspectives with our community.
I am so grateful for how our virtual programming allows us to connect people from many different spaces and places. The pandemic forced us into virtual platforms and even though there were drawbacks, for the adoptee community, it helped many of us come out of adoptee isolation and learn that we are not the “only one” trying to navigate the adoption experience.
That being said, I know in-person events help us make new connections and deepen our friendships. So, while the virtual programing is here to stay, I am also looking forward to more in-person events, including an adoptee only pizza party in Portland TOMORROW and an event in Seattle next month (details TBA). I hope to see you at an Adoption Mosaic in-person event soon!
Whether virtually or in person, thank you for supporting Adoption Mosaic!
