WE ARE HALFWAY THROUGH AND I'VE ONLY WON AN ALUMINUM FOIL MEDAL...

The Winter Olympic sports are not in my normal toolbox. Neither is the vast majority of life skills, but the Winter Olympic games are particularly brutal for me. I am not good in the cold. I break down like an old car. I use Vaporub as my cologne now. People keep saying I look "abominable"... and I still have no idea how to luge. I am ready for summer!

Here is some stuff I like and hope you like too...

AS ALWAYS, REPLY TO THIS EMAIL WITH YOUR THOUGHTS AND COMMENTS AND STUFF YOU WANT TO SEE! I FEEDBACK IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED!

SUPER BOWL LX

Russ was cookin'!!! Way to lead the Giants to another Super Bowl victory!!! Ooooopppsss....

I meant, way to cheer on your old team! Your enthusiasm made the difference.

Oh yeah--the real game...Someone please wake me when it's over!!! I can't take it any more!!! The most exciting part was the people dressed like bushes in the Bad Bunny halftime show. Muy loco mi amogos!

I gotta hand it to Sam Darnold. Those were some of the best handoffs I have seen in the Super Bowl since Elway and Terrell Davis. Sam joins a long list of understated Super Bowl quarterbacks... Trent Dilfer. Brad Johnson. Joe Flacco. With luck, the legend will grow to Rex Grossman status. Gotta cement the legacy!

Of course, the one Super Bowl game that Sam Darnold played in is one more Super Bowl game than I have even been to in my life... so, per usual, the joke is on me.

Way to go Sam! Plus I added Cris Carter looking sad at your victory... too bad Vikings!

I'm tearing up... last time until I can say let's get to the picks until September! 😢😢😢

MY SPOTIFY PLAYLIST OF THE WEEK...

All the Street Cred 'Ta Town Can Provide...

People often ask me where I sharpened my finely honed street skills. I say the mean streets of Wichita, baby! Those were brutal days. Folks underestimate the sheer ferocity of Catholic grade school. Sometimes gotta go HAM on those nuns...do the kids even still say HAM??? My life is sad.

Here are some songs that remind me of my ol' hood...

  1. Funky Cold Medina | Tone-Loc

  2. Bust A Move | Young MC

  3. Rapper's Delight | The Sugarhill Gang

  4. White Lines | Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five

  5. Just A Friend | Biz Markie

  6. Push It | Salt-N-Pepa

  7. Walk This Way | Run-D.M.C. & Aerosmith

  8. The Breaks | Kurtis Blow

  9. Fight For Your Right | Beastie Boys

  10. It's Tricky | Run-D.M.C.

Feel Free to listen and pop a collar along with me!

THE SHOW I AM WATCHING

Smokey & The Bandit

Every time I have to pay T-Mobile, I wistfully dream of a bygone era when CBs ruled the open road. I have always wanted good buddies named Bandit and Snowman, a Trans-am, and to date Gidget. So far, none of those things has come true!

But as far as guilty pleasures go, there is no better movie. And the fact that the entire plot of the movie revolves around running Coors beer east across the Mississippi from Texas to Georgia in under 28 hours is brilliant. How weird were the 70's that people wanted Coors that badly?!?! The entire decade now makes sense to me.

Anyways, I see Burt most days when I go for walks through Hollywood Forever Cemetery. He has a beautiful spot by the pond right next to Pee Wee Herman.

IT'S THE CO2LYMPICS 2026

OK, I know nothing about the Winter Olympics at all, but I did watch some of the figure skating as my girlfriend is super into it. I love Ilia Malinin! I know I am not alone in the world--he seems pretty popular--but good God, he looks like he just popped out of a Renaissance painting where he was the model for the angel. Da Vinci is clawing out of his grave to return to life and paint this kid! And then he started doing all the backflips and stuff...insane. My sad little back would crumble just walking on the ice.

My only other thought is this... we can't lose to Norway! Seriously?!?!?! The land of Lief Erikson, Magnus Carlsen, 9 million people named Thor, and the guy who wrote A Doll's House (which I will never understand!) should not be beating the US in sports.

Losing to Italy...? Meh. I guess. Better than sleeping with the fishes.

My medal count so far (or junk I found lying around while cleaning up my place)...

  • 1 Brach's candy

  • 3 expired breakfast biscuit canisters

  • an old ashtray from a shuttered casino outside of Reno

I gotta be honest... better than I thought I would do this week!

COMEDIAN TO KNOW: GERRENCE GEORGE

Gerrence George is a comedian, author, and friend who is absolutely hilarious! I met him at an open mic show two years ago, tricked him into being on a freezing outdoor show I was producing, and we have been buddies ever since. His comedy is sharp and insightful, and his comedy about relationships will leave you in stitches. Do yourself a favor and check out Gerrence George HERE.

CLIP OF THE WEEK

OK--I love this one. It's one of the oldest bits I wrote when I first got to LA. Still kinda makes me laugh.

A little spicy, so you have been warned.
