NFL WEEK 18

Pardon me as I type through tears... It's the final week of the regular season of the greatest game ever, and it wraps up one of my most disappointing seasons as a fan. The Chiefs broke my heart. Of course the Chiefs have been way worse before. I just didn't expect them to be good then. The bloom is off the rose and, like Poison, I'm dealing with the thorns. Now where did I put that headband...???

  • How did we end up here? Two teams that are actively trying not to win their division. Baker, please! Be Baker again. Win this game, so Florida has a sporting accomplishment outside of alligator wrestling.

• SAT | SEAHAWKS @ 49ERS | PICK: 49ERS

  • Brock Purdy does battle with Sam Darnold. This is the most anticipated battle since Ralph Mouth squared off against Potsie Weber on Happy Days. My brother and his amazingly awesome wife were at the last 49ers game vs the Bears, but I don't think they will be at this one, so 49ers have this one in the bag.

• SUN | COLTS @ TEXANS | PICK: COLTS

  • The End of An Era Part Deux, Phillip Boogaloo is officially over. Rivers is benched. Ironic since the rest of his days will be spent on a bench too... just one in a park feeding pigeons. Nevertheless, the Colts play inspired football for Best G'Pa Ever Phil and they crush the Texans playoff aspirations.

• SUN | BROWNS @ BENGALS | PICK: BROWNS

  • Why is everything always off in Cincinnati? Trade Joe Burrow??? Are you nuts??? I can only pray he gets traded to the NFC. The Cardinals seem like a top-notch organization.

• SUN | SAINTS @ FALCONS | PICK: FALCONS

  • There is nothing but sin and demon rum in New Orleans. Lucky for Kirk Cousins and the boys, this game is in Hotlanta. They bring the thunder of Carrie Nation and the entire Temperance Army down on the Aints. This one is a blowout with Kirk holding the good book...the playbook. Finally.

• SUN | TITANS @ JAGUARS | PICK: TITANS

  • Oh great...an expansion team battle if this game was played in 1997. Sadly, it is being played now. On TV too. I only hope no one scores so they don't interrupt RedZone.

• SUN | CARDINALS @ RAMS | PICK: RAMS

  • The St. Louis Cardinals battle the St. Louis Rams. Kurt Warner stops bagging groceries long enough to throw for 891 yards and 7 interceptions. Somehow, the Rams come out on top!

• SUN | COWBOYS @ GIANTS | PICK: GIANTS

  • Saving the best for last, Jaxson channels his inner Johnny and sweeps the leg of Dak and the boys, bringing some glory to good ol' Reseda, CA. Watch out for him this Fall.

• SUN | PACKERS @ VIKINGS | PICK: PACKERS

  • I want to pick the Vikings, but Minneapolis canceled my show and caused my comedy heart to freeze. It will take a new booking (hopefully late spring/early summer) and a Randy Moss jersey to get me back on the MN train. Go Pack!

• SUN | CHIEFS @ RAIDERS | PICK: CHIEFS

  • If Elton John were to change the lyrics to any of his songs in memory of the Chiefs' offense, it would be Goodbye Yellow Brick Reid. I LOVE Andy and I am not sure there is a better coach out there, but our offense was flat and predictable for the second year in a row. I foresee major changes this next season.

• SUN | COMMANDERS @ EAGLES | PICK: COMMANDERS

  • No matter how late and meaningless the game, an Eagles loss is always something worth celebrating. Petty? Yep. Delightful? Yep!

• SUN | DOLPHINS @ PATRIOTS | PICK: DOLPHINS

  • The Dolphins channel the ghosts of the perfect '72 team. Bob Griese tosses a few zingers as Mercury Morris blazes through the line for 3 TDs and a halfback pass to Larry Csonka. It's the team with the worst mustaches in history, and yet they find a way to win.

• SUN | LIONS @ BEARS | PICK: LIONS

  • Weren't both of these teams sponsored by an Edsel dealership in 1931? The Rust Belt stays rusty. If both teams could lose, I would cheer that. Going with the Lions because I love Goff, but come on! Bite a knee cap, Lions!

  • 2013's game of the week. I am pulling for my bandwagon team, the LA Chargers, to crush the Orange Crush and restore pride to the entire LA soccer-loving community. I have never met a bandwagon I won't jump on, so here we go. Go Chargers!!!

• SUN | JETS @ BILLS | PICK: BILLS

  • Josh Allen, why do I like you so much? You're funny, insanely talented, and married to the second biggest celebrity wife/girlfriend in the league... It makes it hard to root against you sometimes...like today. I'm going with the Bills big! But don't expect this love to carry over to the playoffs. All bets are off then!

• SUN | RAVENS @ STEELERS | PICK: STEELERS

  • This is going to get complicated... why is freshman phenom Tommy O'Connell from the Cleveland Browns suiting up against ARod's Steelers? It's because the Browns were the Ravens until 1995, when the cowards snuck out of town in the middle of the night and became the Ravens. No matter to us. Like Robert Ford before him (a well-placed Jesse James reference for western fans), ARod takes care of the cowards and the Steelers make the playoffs!
