NFL WEEK 11

Can the Chiefs please get one more Bye Week?!?! They looked amazing last week on vacation! 😀😀😀

Let's get to the picks!

  • THU NIGHT | JETS @ PATRIOTS | PICK: PATRIOTS

    • Joe Namath tries to drunkenly kiss Suzy Kolber on live TV and America is completely repulsed. Patriots win big.

  • SUN | COMMANDERS @ DOLPHINS | PICK: DOLPHINS

    • Mike McDaniel is replaced by the ghost of Don Shula just before halftime, and it works! The Dolphins win in a squeaker.

  • SUN | PANTHERS @ FALCONS | PICK: FALCONS

    • Kirk Cousins rehearses his part in his barbershop quartet's rendition of Silent Night throughout the game while Michael Penix catches fire and throws four TDs.

  • SUN | BUCS @ BILLS | PICK: BUCS

    • In one of the best trick plays ever, Baker disguises himself as a snowman and scores undetected for the game winner. Bucs need this one. They get it.

  • SUN | CHARGERS @ JAGUARS | PICK: CHARGERS

    • This is for my buddy Mike and his dad, two of the greatest Some Weekly Stuff fans out there. Chargers score on every possession and beat the Jags 84-0. Former Kansas Jayhawk and Chargers QB John Hadl celebrates the win by watching college basketball! 😀 GO HAWKS!!!

  • SUN | BEARS @ VIKINGS | PICK: VIKINGS

    • I am trying to ingratiate myself to the fine people of Minnesota as I will be traveling to your Godforsaken winter tundra in a few weeks for a show in Minneapolis. For that reason, coupled with the fact that I despise Chicago, I say Go Vikings!

  • SUN | PACKERS @ GIANTS | PICK: GIANTS

    • Jaxson Dart still manages to look menacing to 80's kids everywhere from the sideline. Meanwhile, the fall of Russell Wilson reaches its inevitable thud as he is benched for Jamies Winston, who throws 30 TDs and 31 interceptions in this one game. But it's just enough to win.

  • SUN | TEXANS @ TITANS | PICK: TEXANS

    • Cowboy Up! Texans sauce up and go on a run. BBQ, beer and a victory for everyone!

  • SUN | 49ERS @ CARDINALS | PICK: 49ERS

    • Brock Purdy is back!!! Or...Brock Purdy is back??? Hmmmm... Mac Jones did his best Andy Dalton impression, serving as a good backup. But the A-Team is back, and Purdy is George Peppard. 49ers roll.

  • SUN | SEAHAWKS @ RAMS | PICK: RAMS

    • This could be one of the games of the year. Two teams that score every possession...and yet no one in LA cares. They will be hiking or watching soccer. Rams win.

  • SUN | BENGALS @ STEELERS | PICK: STEELERS

    • Bobby Layne, the 3rd overall pick from the 1948 draft, still has a few years less experience than ARod, but he gets the call regardless. He musters all of the powers of his high and tight buzzcut to march the Steelers with military precision to a win.

  • SUN | RAVENS @ BROWNS | PICK: BROWNS

    • Shedeur Sanders!!!!...still does not play! Mark Andrews drops a guaranteed game winner in the end zone , and the Browns get inspired by rewatching Draft Day.

  • SUN | CHIEFS @ BRONCOS | PICK: CHIEFS

    • It's gonna be cold. It's gonna be snowy. Perfect conditions for the Chiefs! Mahomes thrives in the snow, and Chiefs get their swag back. AFC West is still KC's.

  • SUN NIGHT | LIONS @ EAGLES | PICK: LIONS

    • Eagles lose. Horses get punched all over Philly. The rest of the world celebrates...as always. Goff reminds the NFL why he is the sneakiest, best QB in the league.

  • MON NIGHT | COWBOYS @ RAIDERS | PICK: RAIDERS

    • Lyle Alzado and Al Davis are on the sidelines for this one. Luckily they don't need to be on the field. Cowboys give up 937 points to the Raiders and Geno Smith.

THE SHOW I AM WATCHING

I am not a huge TV watcher, but I made an exception for this...

Death By Lightning

I love this limited series! I love it most because of the book it is based on -- Destiny of the Republic by my old neighbor in Kansas City, the brilliant Candice Millard. I used to see her at the grocery store. We talked about Teddy Roosevelt. She won't remember. That's the kind of impact I make on folks. But I do! And she is truly the best writer of historical fiction in America right now. Please check out the show and, even more, her books. You will thank me!

VETERAN'S/ARMISTICE DAY

I am a HUGE history buff, and volunteered at the National World War I Museum before I came to LA. 11.11.11 is a truly bizarre and important time in the history of the world. The idea of stopping a war at a day and time everyone knew in advance, and the atrocities that happened literally up until 10:59 am are both disgusting and horrifying. And yet through it all, the bravery and personal stories of veterans who fought remain uplifting and hopeful. A sincere and heartfelt thank you to all the veterans out there.

If you ever get a chance to visit the museum, please do so. You will never forget it.

CLIP OF THE WEEK

This one is a goofy take on being Irish! My sisters will not laugh but I think it's funny! Enjoy!

COMEDIAN TO KNOW: HOWARD ARONIN

One of my best friends and a truly hilarious comic, Howard was featured on HBO's Second Chance Stage. His dry wit and his inventive poems will keep you in stitches. Check him out at https://howardaronin.com/.
