NFL WEEK 9

OK--it officially feels like fall. I feel like I am trapped in some weird blend of a Robert Frost meets Dylan Thomas poem where I'm taking roads less traveled and raging against lights or whatever. Slightly melancholic--the year is going too fast! I just need things to slow down, I want the football season to magically stretch out and for the Chiefs to win more games. At least it's sweater weather, so that always helps!

  • Didn't this game look great in June! 2-5 Ravens battle 2-5 Dolphins. Makes me wish Must See TV was still a thing. I'm still Mad About You Helen Hunt!

• SUN | BEARS @ BENGALS | PICK: BENGALS

  • Joe Flacco channels his inner Charlie Sheen and goes crazy on Tiger Blood, the secret to his fountain of youth. He reminds me I still have a year of eligibility left, Coach! Go Bengals!

• SUN | VIKINGS @ LIONS | PICK: LIONS

  • I wonder how many times in real life Vikings had to fight Lions...? My money would be on the lions every time.

• SUN | PANTHERS @ PACKERS | PICK: PACKERS

  • Another Panthers nail-biter as they pull within 27 points late.

• SUN | BRONCOS @ TEXANS | PICK: BRONCOS

  • Texans just played a good game so by NFL rule they now must turn in a horrible performance.

• SUN | FALCONS @ PATRIOTS | PICK: FALCONS

  • Kirk Cousins Part Deux: Electric Boogaloo. Wearing parachute pants, Kirk moonwalks into the end-zone for a touchdown and... wakes up. It was all a dream!

• SUN | 49ERS @ GIANTS | PICK: 49ERS

  • Brock Purdy returns and looks purdy himself against a Giants team who's quarterback looks like every 80's teen movie bully ever who's stolen your cheerleader crush and beat you up at recess. (that got oddly specific!!!) Sweep the leg Brock!

• SUN | COLTS @ STEELERS | PICK: STEELERS

  • Y.A. Tittle is brought in as Aaron Rodgers' backup. Although younger and less experienced than Rodgers, the whippersnapper Tittle runs the wishbone to perfection. Steelers win!

• SUN | CHARGERS @ TITANS | PICK: CHARGERS

  • It's Nash-Vegas! The Chargers pull a country music version of Swingers and they are money, baby. If you haven't seen Swingers, watch it, Elf, and Iron Man back to back and ask yourself, "How did the same guy do all of these???"

• SUN | SAINTS @ RAMS | PICK: RAMS

  • Every week one game makes you ask yourself, "Why? Just why?" May I present this week's entree in the series Games No One Needed...

  • Maxx Crosby with one hand tied behind his back sacks Trevor Lawrence and performs his new move The Supercut where he sheers Trevor's gorgeous locks down to a USMC high and tight.

  • Regular season, Bills win. Playoffs, always Chiefs. Taylor is sad, Josh Allen gets another commercial, and the Bills get crushed in January. The world stays in orbit.

  • I know what I will not be doing on Sunday night and that is watching this game. Let me know who manages not to lose.
