Are you listening to your body or normalizing the symptoms?
We are told that leaking, constipation, pressure, back pain, and heaviness are common. But, common doesn't mean that it's normal.
It's true, these symptoms are very common and we're often told that "it's just part of getting older, everyone pees a little when they sneeze, or that's what happens after having kids."
Hi... you don't have to live this way. This is your body saying "help me, I need support." Don't just push through. But we understand that even when support is needed, there are still barriers that make it hard to take the next step. Talking about painful intimacy, having to run to the bathroom often, and bowel issues aren't fun to talk about it or share with others. Our bodies need extra love sometimes, friend. And, we're on the road to living our best selves, right?
It can be embarrassing, and we don’t want you to feel like these symptoms are something you simply have to keep living with in silence. This is why 1:1 care is important. Pelvic floor symptoms are deeply personal, and your care should be, too. Individualized support allows us to slow down, ask better questions, and help you feel seen, heard, and supported in a way that your Facebook momma groups simply can’t.
It's fine. Until it's not.
Pelvic floor issues typically don't show up all at once. They creep in as only a little bit of leaking at first or pelvic pressure at the end of the day, but still manageable. I mean, you're only avoiding one of your workouts and planning your Saturday afternoon outing around where the best bathrooms are. It can't be that big of deal, you can just adapt, right?
😫 Over time, these work-arounds start to become a new normal. We're here to say that you don't have to wait until things get bad enough for support.
Remember, we help humans every day with all sorts of TMI stuff. Maybe you've met all of the specialists, but have you met the solutionists [us!]? I wonder what it would look like if you were able to jump on the trampoline with your kids this summer or get back to your squats without wearing a pad?
We want you to know that pelvic floor support is here when you're ready —because your life should not have to shrink around your symptoms.
It's never too late. Just come see us!
