Spring reset, upcoming events, and we're hiring!

Greetings, friends!

We’ve had a little taste of spring recently… and I have to say, it was the best. I thought I would share a few updates from my corner of the world. I’m truly grateful you’re here and spending a few minutes with us today, thank you for opening this email.

Longer days and a bit more sunshine just feel good. You're more likely to move your body, plan active outings, and if you're a mom of school-aged kids, I know you already have your WHOLE SUMMER planned out. If you're anything like the people who have been in my office lately, you may be feeling stiff, sore and in need of a spring reset appointment. There are links all over this email to schedule an appointment so get it off of your to-do list and into the "done" category ✅ 😊

Fun Fact: Tressa is our in-house astrologer, so if you have questions about the sun, the moon, eclipses… or Mercury being in retrograde, she’s your girl.

🩷 Speaking of soul-filling, this Saturday was the Elevated Motherhood Summit. It was a lovely reminder that motherhood was never meant to be done alone. In a last minute change of plans, I led a movement session in the greenhouse at Landscape Gardens! I had a wonderful time connecting with attendees and the other providers there!

🩷 Perhaps you would like to venture down to Vermillion? I'll be a guest speaker at the USD Yoga Festival on March 28th, a full day dedicated to movement, breath, and connection. Yoga and pelvic health work so closely together, and I love seeing more awareness around strength that starts from within.

🩷 Our Small Group Training Sessions have officially started! Try your first session for just $10 and experience strength from the inside out. Scroll down to learn more, we can’t wait to see you there.

🩷 Remember, we have a satellite clinic in Rock Rapids and have appointment openings available. If you’ve been waiting for care closer to home, we would love to support you.

🩷 One more exciting update — we’re hiring! We’re currently looking for a part-time admin team member in our Sioux Falls clinic and a PRN physical or occupational therapist for our Rock Rapids location. If you or someone you know feels called to this kind of work, you can find details here.

See you next month,

🩷 Marysa

Why Your Back Pain Might Not Be Just Your Back

Before the nicer weather fully arrives… let’s talk about moving well.

We’ve all been there this winter:
😖 slipping (or almost slipping) on the ice
😖 tensing up while shivering
😖 moving less because it’s just too cold
😖 feeling a little stiffer than usual

But here’s something most people don’t realize:

💡95% of people with lower back pain also have pelvic floor dysfunction.

The pelvic floor and the lower back are deeply connected. They work together as part of your core system; your diaphragm and those deep abdominal muscles. If one area isn’t functioning well, the others often compensate.

Falls on the ice? That impact can jar the pelvis and spine.
Muscle tension from bracing against the cold? That can create chronic tightness. Decreased winter movement? That can reduce coordination and stability.

All of it adds up.

As we head into warmer weather and moving more, cheering your bebes on in sports, gardening, lifting kids, or returning to workouts, your body needs to be ready.

Back pain isn’t always just your back. Also, strengthening doesn’t always mean doing more crunches or push-ups. Sometimes it means retraining how your system works together.

If you’ve noticed lingering back pain, heaviness, leakage, or stiffness after this winter, this is your reminder: it can be addressed and it's never too late.

🌷We’re here to help you feel strong and confident in your body. Let’s build that foundation now before the flowers bloom and spring is in full swing.

ATTENTION PREGNANT MAMAS!

We've been working hard behind the scenes to develop our very own birth prep class, Birth Lab! We've been carefully listening to all of our prenatal patients and what they really want out of their individual appointments. We've taken all of their goals and questions and put them into a class! In this 90 minute interactive workshop, you'll learn all about birth, the role of the pelvic floor and movement during labor, laboring positions for each phase, how to push effectively, what to do in the third trimester and what to expect postpartum! This will be a small group so we can be hands on and get to know you. First class launches next month! Be on the lookout for all the details!

Did you know?

Leaking when you sneeze, laugh, or jump is common… but it’s not normal. Pelvic floor therapy can address the root cause, not just manage the symptoms.

Cheers to you + a resilient pelvic floor,
