Pause + Notice Your Body

Let's take a moment to recognize where you're at right now.

September can feel like a fresh start - new routines, busy schedules, and shifting seasons. In all of that, it’s easy to lose track of how our bodies are feeling.

💗 Ask yourself: Where am I holding tension in my body right now?
Maybe it’s in your jaw as you juggle to-do lists, your shoulders from hours at a desk, your belly holding tight without you realizing it, or your hips from sitting in the car line. Wherever you notice it, pause. Take a deep breath in, exhale slowly, + allow that space to soften.

💗 Let's practice:
Unclench your jaw, roll your shoulders back, + take 3 deep belly breaths. Put your hand on your belly move as you do this. Remember, don't breathe with your neck. Your shoulders shouldn't move up + down.

💜 Connection to your pelvic floor:
Noticing tension in your hips or belly? Your pelvic floor may be holding, too and awareness is the first step toward release.

Join us every Wednesday for our free postpartum meetup! Dr. Marysa + Sarah Vaca, RN, IBCLC host the group where we have a scale present for before/after feed weights + weight checks. Sarah is available for breastfeeding tips + Marysa is available to talk physical recovery. We are occasionally joined by other local perinatal professionals!
