Empowering Young Widows: The Inspiring Journey of Broken Halos Haven

Broken Halos Haven is a beacon of hope and support for young widows navigating the challenging journey of single parenthood after the loss of their spouse.

Founder Natalie Reid Knutson became part of a heartbreaking statistic as she became one of more than 700,000 new widows every year in America when she suddenly and tragically lost her husband, Wayne.

Broken Halo Haven is an incredible organization making a big difference in the lives of widows and their children who need our support. They provide comfort, resources, and a community to those who have lost their both partners and parents, helping them through some of the toughest times. Our latest blog post is all about the amazing work they're doing. North Dallas Renovations is honored and excited about coming along side Broken Halos Haven to assist with all things construction for their newest venture, The Haven.

The Haven will provide innovative programs to help children through their grief. Things like a soft rage room and art therapy. There's even a plan for a giant indoor slide. Please consider joining us in helping widows and their children.

What led you to North Dallas Renovations?

I found the love of my life, the owner's daughter. When we began dating, I was working as a PM for a construction company that I was ready to part ways with. A few months into Haleigh (my now wife) and my relationship, Kyle approached me about joining the team. Without hesitation, I accepted, I knew NDR was where God intended me to be. I was hired to be in sales, but managed to weasel my way into project managing after a month and have loved every day since.

What excites you about work?

Having the opportunity and trust to take our customers' vision of their dream project and bring it to life.

What was your dream job as a child?

Like many boys brought up in Texas, to play in the NFL.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

Scandinavia. Out yonder near the mountains and a Fjord, and I’d be one happy camper.

What is one thing on your bucket list?

To go fly fishing with my dad in Colorado.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

Relaxing at home with my two beautiful girls.

10. Check out churches near you for Vacation Bible School.

11. Stay cool at Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark or Hawaiian Falls.

12. Burn more energy at the Urban Air Trampoline Park.
