AI and the New Information Landscape

AI isn’t just another tool. It’s changing how information is processed. For years, businesses stored massive amounts of data but struggled to use it efficiently. Now, AI can summarize emails, extract meeting action items, analyze trends, and draft communications in seconds.

We’re moving from simply storing information to actively processing it in real time.

For SMBs, this levels the playing field. Capabilities that once required full teams of analysts are now built into platforms like Microsoft 365 and modern business systems.

But AI also amplifies whatever environment it’s placed into. If your data is disorganized or security is weak, AI can magnify those issues. Governance and guardrails matter.

In our 2026 IT Plan, we’re taking a crawl–walk–run approach:

  • Crawl: Identify safe, high-impact use cases

  • Walk: Add structure, policy, and security

  • Run: Use AI strategically to gain advantage

AI won’t replace people — but it will reward businesses that process and act on information faster.

If you’re exploring where AI fits into your organization, now is the time to start the conversation with us.

Spring Cleaning

Spring cleaning is a great time to clear out old laptops, desktops, tablets, and extra chargers you no longer use. Instead of tossing them, donate to PCs for People, a nonprofit that refurbishes devices and helps connect families to affordable technology and internet access.

If you have electronics to donate, let us know and we’ll take care of everything—from coordinating drop-off or pickup details to making sure your devices are handled responsibly.

MFA Fatigue” is back—don’t tap “Approve” on autopilot

Attackers are increasingly using “push bombing” (MFA fatigue) to get into accounts: they steal a password, then spam your phone with authentication prompts until you approve one just to make it stop—often posing as IT right after.

Why it matters: One accidental approval can give an attacker full access to email, files, and internal tools, bypassing your password entirely.

Quick tip (do this today):

  • Switch to number-matching or passkeys for sign-ins (harder to approve by mistake), and

  • If you get an unexpected MFA prompt: deny it, then change your password immediately and report it to IT/Sec.
