Today, I realized that I actually had quite a few questions stocked in my NGL profile, and I finally got the time to answer these questions. So, lezzgooo! π₯
Regarding this question, the Bisayang VA actually gave the best answer to this: This is NOT a stable field, and this should NOT be anyone's endgame. [Source]
If you understand Bisaya, the Reel I linked to "[Source]" is an excellent watch.
The VA / Freelancing field is NOT for the stability-seeking faint of heart. In my almost 18 years of working in this field, being fired, companies folding up is the NORM. You have to accept that.
So when, given that understanding, you still want to go for this because of the big bucks, here's what you should do:
Do risk management by going for multiple clients.
Aspire to have a more lasting business or vocation.
Have multiple income streams.
If you're so used to the employment paradigms of our parents' generation, I hate to burst your bubble, but like the BPO industry, the VA / Freelancing industry is actually worse in being ephemeral. This is why you should work hard, and save hard. Having a 6-month to 1-year Emergency Fund should be your goal in the event of being fired or your client's business folding up, or automation replacing you, or whatever other reason you and your client part ways. And yes. Have a dream bigger than earning money from home.
