Core Value - We encourage and promote Educational Success

To spell it out more clearly this includes:

  • Emphasis on reading, writing, arithmetic, arts, science, technology and physical education.

  • Implementation of benchmarks and testing to assess student progress.

The above statements are refreshing in their simplicity and take us back to a bye gone era.

Pastors, Priests and Leaders Information Event..

What is Happening to our Children?

On November 9th, B2B convened a meeting to hear what is happening to our children in the two Durham school boards. Over ninety pastors, priests, and church members attended, representing 34 churches in Durham. The morning was a great success, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

Here are some of the comments:

“I am so glad that finally, somebody is doing something”

“I came away from the meeting realizing that this is important. I have decided to gather some of my pastor colleagues together and have you come over to explain what is happening in the schools. “

One of the presentations was about Books and Resources available in DDSB schools. This 17 minute video Click Here.... is highly recommended for a crisp insight into the damaging material our children are being presented with.

Viewer warning – some of the images in the above video are very explicit. We do not apologize. If we struggle to look at this material, we should be outraged that our children are being exposed to it.

These books must go.

Presentations from the event can be found on our website back2basicsdurham.ca under the Resource/Events tab.

What’s Happening at DDSB and DCDSB?

ELECTIONS:

  • DDSB recently elected Tracy Brown as Chair and Deb Oldfield as Vice Chair.

  • DCDSB recently elected Monique Forster as Chair and Kim Beatty as Vice Chair.

We wish them well in their respective terms of office. We trust that these two sets of board leaders will mark their periods of board leadership with a return to appropriate respect for parents along with a reining in of the ideologies which are detracting from Durham schools delivering an excellent education, focused on equipping students with the tools necessary for success.

Petition

Stories abound of third party groups that are invited into schools to do presentations on a variety of topics. Too often these groups, some of which have activist agendas aimed at social justice issues are presenting ideas and ideologies which are harmful to young people,. There is an urgent need for proper oversight by the Ministry of Education and an independent review of this practice.
