Summer has officially arrived in the South. The humidity is rising, the kids are out of school, and weekend lake trips are officially on the calendar. We are officially at the halfway mark of 2026. This is the time of year when a lot of businesses take their foot off the gas. The "Summer Slump" is a real phenomenon, but it usually isn't because customers stop buying—it's because business owners stop marketing. You absolutely deserve to take some time off and recharge this summer. But if your brand goes completely dark while you are sitting on the beach, your Q3 pipeline is going to dry up fast. This month, we are talking about how to maintain momentum, keep your digital presence active, and make sure your business keeps growing even when you are out of the office. Let’s get into it.

The High Cost of the "Summer Slump" If there is one trap we see local businesses fall into every single year, it is the June/July blackout. The owner goes on vacation, the team gets stretched thin, and suddenly the social media pages haven't been updated in three weeks. Here is the hard truth: Consistency is the currency of trust. When your digital presence goes silent, your audience assumes you are either closed, too busy to care, or irrelevant. Meanwhile, your competitors who automated their summer marketing are scooping up the leads you left on the table. How to beat the slump: Batch Your Content: Don't try to post on the fly from the golf course. Spend one afternoon batching your content for the whole month and schedule it in advance. Automate the Inbox: If you are short-staffed, set up auto-replies on your social channels and website contact forms to let people know exactly when they will hear back. Keep Planting Seeds: Remember our gardening analogy from April? The marketing you do in June doesn't pay off in June. It pays off in August and September. Do not stop watering the garden just because it's hot outside.
You can take a vacation. Your marketing strategy cannot.

Out & About in Tupelo: We love building digital communities, but nothing beats showing up in our actual community. Here is what we've been up to lately: Leveraging AI for BIG Results: Our President and CEO, Ashley Elkins, kicked off the month by sharing some serious knowledge! She spoke to Aiming for Healthy Families on how to leverage Artificial Intelligence to drive massive results. We love seeing our leadership out in the community, helping other organizations use the latest tech to scale their impact and streamline their operations. Supporting Local Legacy: Ashley stopped by to grab some delicious plate lunches and support Love Her Charm School. We absolutely love showing up for Demetra—a wonderful friend, a valued client, and a proud Vitality South alumni! Community Networking: Ashley and Chris recently hit the local circuit, exchanging ideas and connecting with fellow community leaders at a great Rotary networking event. They also had the incredible honor of serving as judges together for the CDF’s "The Pitch" competition! Plus, Ashley stayed plugged into the local business scene by attending the CDF Business After Hours. Summer Adventures & Local Love: Our Lead Graphic Designer, Dacey, has been soaking up the summer weather! She recently took her daughter and family on adventures to Wise Family Farms and the Tupelo Buffalo Park (fueled by local snow cones, of course!). Plus, Dacey and her Bible study group have been actively showing love to local businesses by hanging out at Crave, Lost + Found Coffee, and our beautiful local parks. Giving Back at VBS: Summer means Vacation Bible School season! Both Ashley and Dacey spent time this month serving and volunteering at their respective churches' VBS programs. We love seeing our team invest their time into the next generation. Happy Birthday, Megan!: Our incredible Graphic Designer, Megan, celebrated her birthday this month! While she was off enjoying some well-deserved PTO, the Vitality South team went all out with a jungle of balloons to make sure she felt the birthday love the second she walked back into the office.
