Most of us take for granted what it means to lie down at night in a comfortable bed, in a warm home, under a roof that doesn’t leak.

Now imagine your family surviving on just fifteen dollars a month. Five dollars of that precious income goes toward rent for a single mud-brick room, no larger than a small kitchen for you, your husband, and your four children.

A single dim solar light hangs from the ceiling, offering little more than a faint glow. This one room is where your family eats, sits, and sleeps - together, on the floor. There is no furniture. No space to spread out. No place to retreat.

For many families in the village of Murama, Rwanda, this is not the exception; it is daily life.

I recently returned from a week in Rwanda with our partners at Trinitas, and trips like this are always a powerful reminder of both the depth of need in our world and the incredible impact even one act of generosity can make.

Through this partnership, Hope for the Hungry is helping build safe homes for families in desperate need. But the work doesn’t stop there. Together, we’re also providing children with school fees and uniforms, ensuring they receive at least one warm meal each day, and offering vocational training, like sewing programs for pregnant, unwed mothers, so they can begin to build a more stable future.

In Matthew 26:11, Jesus said, “The poor you will always have with you…(NIV).” Yet just one chapter earlier, He makes it clear that when we care for those in need, we are, in a very real way, caring for Him.

Trips like this always leave me with the same conviction: we may not be able to meet every need, but we are called to respond to the ones placed before us.

Because of your support, Hope for the Hungry can do just that.

Today, I want to invite you to take part in this mission. Your generosity helps meet real, tangible needs. You help us provide food, shelter, education, and opportunity, while also sharing the life-changing hope of Jesus Christ with people who might otherwise never hear the name of our Lord and Savior.

Would you consider making a gift today?

No matter the size, your support makes a meaningful difference. It allows us to continue reaching vulnerable families, strengthening communities, and bringing hope to places that are too often forgotten.

Thank you for being part of this work, and for being the hands and feet of Christ to a world in need.

Sincerely,

Douglas Mann
Executive Director
