National Services Day 2025 — A Nationwide Salute to Our Frontline Heroes

This Saturday, 6 September, communities across Ireland will come together to celebrate National Services Day — a special occasion to honour the extraordinary contribution of our frontline emergency and voluntary services.

From Dublin to Cork, Galway to Limerick, parades and public displays will highlight the work of the men and women who keep Ireland safe every day. Organised by volunteers and officially recognised on the first Saturday of September each year, this day is both a national thank-you and an opportunity for the public to engage directly with those who serve.

Dublin – Parade & Dublin Castle Display

  • Parade: Starts at 12:00 pm from the Garden of Remembrance, making its way down O’Connell Street, past Trinity College, along Dame Street, and finishing at Dublin Castle.

  • Displays: From 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, Dublin Castle will host extensive displays of vehicles, equipment, and demonstrations from Gardaí, Fire Services, Ambulance crews, Civil Defence, Defence Forces, and more.

  • Entertainment: The day will include live music, performances by service bands, and a moving appearance from the Sea of Change Cancer Choir.
