Canes Players Partner with Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC to Stop Hunger

As a North Carolina-based company, Benevolist celebrates our very own NHL 2026 Stanley Cup champions – The Carolina Hurricanes! We are so proud of their win, and their kind hearts.

A couple of our amazing Stanley Cup Champions partnered with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina to sound the siren on food insecurity and raise support during a crucial time, raising $25,000.

The initiative began at the start of the Stanley Cup series when the Hurricanes donated a $50,000 grant to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina on the ice during Game 2. WOW!

Each dollar donated provides three meals for children, veterans, seniors and working families. The $50,000 donation provided 150,000 meals and reaching the latest $25,000 fundraising goal means 75,000 additional meals will be provided!

"It's one in five children in our 35 counties who are facing food insecurity."

Why Focus on Shelf-Stable Dairy for National Dairy Month?

Dairy is one of the most requested items for families in crisis,

yet it can be one of the hardest to keep on hand.

Shelf-stable options help bridge that gap.

  • Provides access to dairy for families without reliable refrigeration.

  • Gives your organization greater flexibility with storage and distribution.

  • Makes it easy for donors to give from anywhere by ordering online and shipping directly to your location.

CEO REFLECTIONS

As we move into the summer months, I think about the children who are not in school, in a place where they could always count on at least two nutritious meals a day. I think about their parents, some working multiple jobs just to keep a roof over their heads. I think about the parents that can't afford childcare. I think about how stressful it all must be for them.

If your stomach is full, you're blessed. Blessing a hungry child with a meal or a glass of milk isn't that hard, right?

Together we can make a difference!
