Dear Friend,

Julia and I write to you today with great news regarding our now 20-year-old company, Watchfire Music -- and the next chapter of our work.

If you have followed the music business at all, you know how profoundly it has changed in those 20 years. The sale of recorded music, once the foundation of many artists’ livelihood, has given way to streaming, where reaching listeners and earning a living are two very different things.

We survived that most difficult change because we stayed nimble.

During the pandemic our sales went up because people needed inspiration, and that’s what we’re all about -- Inspiration. We built websites for organizations, churches and artists; we taught them how to market those websites. With our Solo Thoughts, we dramatically cut down the time it took soloists and music committees to find the perfect solo to match the sermons of the day.

We brought together more than 300 composers, recording artists, lyricists, and publishers from around the world and built a catalog of over 33,000 product points -- including sheet music in multiple keys, study tracks, accompaniment tracks, individual recordings, and albums.

We produced inspirational concerts in New York City, and Julia toured the United States presenting 64 inspirational concerts in a four-year period. Additionally, Is Anybody Listening? In Concert ran Off- Broadway at The Sheen Center in New York City and was live-streamed and webcast multiple times for several years -- and now lives on Youtube as a live-concert film, with thousands of viewers and subscribers

Just recently, we added Fun Stuff, freely sharing inspirational songs, concert videos, and musical theater performances -- a new offering every Friday.

Over those same 20 years, I wrote more than 600 inspirational blogs for our website. As music technology advanced, I moved naturally from blogging into podcasting. I have just finished creating the 52nd episode of Scattershot Symphony, The Music Of Peter Link -- Series 1 our Theater Of The Imagination podcast.

Together, our podcasts and digital performances have generated more than 53,000 downloads and views -- a conservative count -- with listeners in 140 countries.

We are alive and kickin’ today because we have continued to find new ways to bring inspirational music to people who need it.

We give and give and then we give again.

Here’s the good news:

Theater Of The Imagination is now a fiscally sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a nonprofit arts organization. Through Fractured Atlas, contributions supporting this work are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. This also opens the door to qualifying foundation grants and charitable corporate support.

For us, this is a significant step. It gives us a framework for supporting the work that we share with people around the globe -- anywhere, anytime.

We believe our future lies with Theater Of The Imagination.

For more than 50 years, my work has been telling stories through music. The podcast musical gives us a new way to carry this emerging artform forward.  Woven into this are dialogue, songs, underscoring, and sound effects creating a fully integrated musical in the tradition of the American Musical. Theater of The Imagination Podcast’s Series 3, Rosemary and Thyme -- A Story For The Ages from Bluegrass to Broadway, is just one of these.

Theater Of The Imagination will bring these works to people who might otherwise never have the chance to experience them -- including those who may never attend a Broadway show or a national tour. They don’t have to travel to New York. They can listen for free -- anywhere, anytime.

The price of admission? There is no price of admission. Just bring your imagination.

This work is already underway.

The next series will be Series 4 -- Sundown: The Podcast Musical, A Musical Fable of the Old West -- a story of friendship, greed, and the redemptive power of love. The cast is assembled, and we are preparing to record. Series 5 and 6 are planned to follow.

Today we stand on the threshold of a number of fascinating opportunities. These are works into which we have already poured years of writing, composing, and preparation. Financial support now can help carry them through their next stages of production and into the lives of listeners.

Julia and I would like to invite you to consider a substantial gift toward this next chapter, beginning with Sundown.

Take a tour through our Fractured Atlas Campaign and continue it, if you like, on our Sundown: The Podcast Musical info page on our website and dive deep into the exciting and immediate future of our output.

If someone comes to mind who might also enjoy being part of this mission, we would be grateful for an introduction.

Twenty years of Watchfire Music have brought us here. We have the stories, the music, the artists, and the experience.

With your help, we can bring this next chapter to life.

With much gratitude,

Peter Link and Julia Wade

PS – Would you like to learn more? Last week we released Scattershot Symphony Ep. #52, THE COMING OF SUNDOWN. It’s the ultimate deep dive. And our Sundown: the Podcast Musical Crowdfunder just went live today. We’ll be in touch.
