An Ancient American Story

What’s It All About?

The legendary gunfight at the OK Corral lasted less than sixty seconds. But those fleeting moments of the late nineteenth century grew rapidly into an American myth, one that informs our national character to this day. Sundown explores the myth and those larger-than-life men and women who unwittingly formed it: the Earps, the Clantons, the McLaurys, and the unlikely duo of Doc Holliday and Cattle Kate Fisher. Their story, which culminates on a dusty street in Tombstone, Arizona, is an American romance.

Filled with poignancy and humor, Sundown looks beyond the legend to reveal the humanity and capacity for redemption within these larger-than-life figures.

Where Can I See This Show?

You can’t see it, but you can hear it! It’s a podcast. Best of all, you can experience it in your imagination. And just wait till you live inside the music! Ahhh, the Music! Somehow the award institutions like Billboard, and Top Ten Theatre Albums, 2004, Talkin’ Broadway.com must have thought that perhaps the show had not come into New York yet but still deserved an award. The word was out.

The title song, Sundown, sung by Steve Blanchard won the JPF Independent Music Award for Best Theatre Song, Billboard gave the song, Bridges, sung by Judy McLane its Song Of The Year award and the JPF Independent Music Award for Best Theatre Recording, went to the album, Sundown. With your help, we may even soon be able to see it in the movies!

More on that later …
