Welcome to Season 30 at Next Step Dance Studio!

30 seasons of dance, memories, friendships, and incredible students!

We are so thankful to have you joining us for this milestone year at Next Step Dance Studio. Whether this is your family's very first season or you've been dancing with us for years, we're so excited to have you as part of the NSDS community!

We kicked things off this summer with our Student Appreciation Day, welcoming more than 400 attendees! It's one of our favorite traditions and such a fun opportunity to bring our families together outside of the classroom.

And there's more fun ahead! Mark your calendars for our next FREE community event — our annual Trunk or Treat! Join us on Saturday, October 31st for another fun NSDS tradition. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

Our staff has also been busy behind the scenes this summer with training, planning, and preparing to make Season 30 an amazing experience for our dancers.

NSDS Calendar

First Week of Class – Helpful Tips!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone this September! Here are a few things to know before your dancer's first class:

Dancewear & Shoes

Still waiting for your leotard or shoes? That's okay! If you've ordered your items but they haven't arrived yet, dancers can wear comfortable clothes and socks to class.

If you ordered shoes or attire during a Sizing Day and still need to pick them up, they will be waiting in your dancer's classroom.
Still need to purchase your dancer's required attire? Stop at the Front Desk before class, and we'll be happy to help.

Twinkle Toes Dancers

Please have your dancer use the bathroom before class so they're ready to learn and have fun!
Twinkle Toes I, II & III dancers will start class in their tap shoes.
Returning dancers: Bring your purple Starter Kit bag to class each week.
New dancers: If you haven't picked up or purchased your Starter Kit yet, please stop at the Front Desk before class.
Don't worry about shoe changes! Teachers and assistants will help dancers put away their tap shoes and change into ballet shoes during class.

Dress Code Attire

Parking Lot Update:

Our parking lot will be especially busy during the first few weeks! Please help us keep everyone safe and traffic moving smoothly.

Drop-off/Pick-up: Please use the studio entrance rather than having young dancers cross the parking lot to meet your vehicle.
Need parking? Additional parking is available in the lower Jubilee parking lot, with a sidewalk leading to the studio.
Park only in designated spaces. Please do not park along lot edges, near the entrance, in fire lanes, or in handicap spaces without authorization.

Due to ongoing parking concerns, Next Step is working with the Franklin Police Department to monitor the area, and vehicles parked in non-designated areas may be ticketed.

Want a Little More Dance Without a Bigger Commitment?

Does your dancer love class and want more opportunities to learn, improve, and challenge themselves?

Our One-Day Choreography & Technique Workshops are a great way for dancers ages 6+ to add extra training throughout the year — no Dance Company participation required!

These workshops are especially great for recreational dancers who want to do a little more but aren't ready or able to commit to a competitive program.

Cost: $30 per workshop

Choreography Workshops

Love learning dances? These workshops give dancers extra experience picking up choreography, exploring different styles, and becoming more confident learning combinations.

Technique Workshops

Sometimes dancers just need more time to focus on ONE skill! These workshops allow dancers to break down specific skills, work on proper technique, and get additional practice outside of their regular weekly class.

Come to One or Come to Them All!

Each workshop is its own one-day experience, so there's no long-term commitment. Pick the styles and skills your dancer is excited about and join us when it works for your schedule!

Ages 6+ | $30 per workshop | Recreational dancers welcome!

Want to earn a FREE holiday costume?

New this year - NSDS is offering a pay-in-full option for dancers enrolled in a recreational group class from September to June and in return you will receive one FREE holiday costume package (Value of $110).

To opt in, simply add this note in the Comment Field when registering: 'Please charge my account in full!' This authorizes NSDS to charge your account for the membership fee and 10 months of tuition.

Please note: This payment is nonrefundable, and no refunds will be issued if a student withdraws before classes end in June.** If you have already registered and would like to take advantage of our pay-in-full option, please email us at jacq@nextstepdancestudio.com to let us know.

Referral Program - Earn Tuition Credits Share NSDS with a friend and earn rewards!

When a new family registers and mentions your name, you BOTH receive a $50 tuition credit.
Credits are applied after the new family has completed 2 months of enrollment.
