AUGUST 2026

Soli Deo Gloria

We are excited to invite you to a very special occasion in the life of Concordia Academy.

On Sunday, August 23, our Headmaster, Daniel Snyder, will be formally installed as a Called Teacher in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. This meaningful service recognizes God's calling and Dan's commitment to serving Christ through Lutheran education.

As our Headmaster, Dan has faithfully led Concordia Academy with vision, humility, and a heart for students, families, and faculty. We would be honored to have our school community join us as we celebrate this important milestone in his ministry.

Installation Service

Date: Sunday, August 23, 2026
Time: 4:00 PM
Location: Immanuel Lutheran Church, 909 S Market St., Wichita

A reception will follow the service, and all members of the Concordia Academy community are invited to attend.

Your presence would be a wonderful encouragement to Dan and his family as we give thanks for God's faithfulness and pray for His continued blessings on Dan's leadership and ministry.

We hope you can join us for this celebration!

From Headmaster Snyder...Learning your ABC's

The inscription, the clay tablet, hieroglyphics, the alphabet, paper, the scroll, the book, the printing press, telegraph, radio, television, computers and now artificial intelligence. Is the world over? Are humans now replaced? Hardly. The progression describes a history, a biography even, the development in an important way of the word. As you know, today the Word of God is among us, a living inspiration of the Holy Spirit. When you look up a scripture on your cell phone, God is communicating himself to you, coming closer in his desire to restore you. He has even come among us personally to speak to his people.

What then is a person, and what is education? This is a good question as school begins and we prepare to educate these persons. One thing to keep in mind is that we Christian and classical educators are classical humanists. You might rightfully turn away at the term “Humanism” these days. Words, children of thoughts, can upset us just like children when they choose to hang around with bad influences, bad choices of friends. Humanism has been hanging around with some other bad influences: enlightenment-humanism, scientific humanism, socially conscious humanism, and many other questionable characters such as Marxist humanism.

But human is what we are, what Christ became. Because classical humanists understand that what distinguishes men from animals, people from machines like AI, is the Logos – the Word, the “Light of Men”. We know that education is not only about becoming clever, and certainly not about evolving some new consciousness or identity but is about something better and blessed.  Man is made to name the creation, to tend the garden, and to walk with God.  Whoever he is, he is made not only to toil for and eat the bread of his labor, but to live by the very Word of God. He is human, imago Dei, in the image of God, who breaths the Word, and we learn to listen, to meditate, and to reply.
