Operation Golden Harp
Harper Brickley came to Concordia Academy in her senior year after being homeschooled for her entire prior education. Having been taught alongside her seven siblings, she brings the aspects of fellowship and kindness with her, which helped the rest of us form into a closer community.
Born to a pastor and teacher, it is no surprise that she is empathetic and chooses to exemplify courage, two valuable characteristics which are necessary for both pastors and teachers to possess. One of her colleagues chose this saying by the brilliant Vincent Van Gogh to describe Harper: “There is nothing more artistic than loving people.” Harper demonstrated this maxim by being artistic and poetic, as well as loving and kind. This is why she was chosen as our school greeter, to welcome guests with her cheerful demeanor. She is not only virtuous, but also well educated, having read an abundant number of books which cultivated her distinct love of the classics, along with all sorts of other literature, especially historical fiction, which is her favorite genre.
She especially enjoyed Concordia Academy, specifically because she appreciated our teachers’ feedback that she received on her schoolwork and enjoyed continuing to read. Furthermore, she is involved in many extra-curricular activities such as playing the piano, dancing, and especially track. For the latter, she was offered a scholarship to Tabor College where she will continue in this discipline while earning her teaching degree.
Harper hopes to be remembered for her faith and good works. To such a humble reply, it is only right to praise and honor our most esteemed colleague and exemplifier of virtuous academia, whose purpose in life is to express the glory of God.
