Your New MedicareIQ Portal Is Here!

Annual Enrollment is Almost Here - Meet Your New MedicareIQ Portal

Greetings!

Annual Enrollment runs October 15 – December 7. This year, reviewing your plan is as easy as clicking a link.

I'm introducing MedicareIQ, your own portal to review your plan, see what's changing for next year, and compare your options side by side.

Take a sneak peek below. The preview shows 2026 plans so you can get familiar with it. The 2027 plans will be added after October 1.

I'll also be hosting short training videos and live Zoom sessions to show you how to use it. You don't need to be a computer expert.

Please know, this is just your sneak preview, after Oct. 1 you will have to create a user and password. Don't worry we will make it simple!

  5. Home visits are available if you're unable to use Zoom or leave the house.

You'll also find all my public events under "My Events" and "My Calendar" in your portal.

VERY IMPORTANT! Understanding Your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC)

Each year your insurance company must send you an Annual Notice of Change (ANOC). It explains what's changing in your plan for next year. It should have arrived by September 30, so look for it now.

It usually comes in an envelope from your plan, such as UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Aetna, BCBS, Wellcare, HealthSpring, or Devoted. Please don't throw it away.

How to read it:

  • One column shows your 2026 benefits and the other shows 2027.

  • Compare them line by line: premium, doctor copays, prescriptions, and extra benefits.

  • If anything looks confusing, call me.

Happy with your plan? If the changes look fine to you, there's no need to schedule an appointment. I'm always just a phone call away.

Can't meet before December 7? Don't worry. If you're in a Medicare Advantage plan, you'll have another chance to make one change from January 1 through March 31.

We're also adding copies of ANOCs to your portal, so watch for them there.

Prescription Cost Check-In

If you notice a change in your medication cost last year, it's not because you were in the wrong plan. All prescription drug cost in every plan went up, and it will possibly increase again this year. If you qualify for Extra-help (LIS), your prescription cost is based on those levels even if you had Medicaid. Medicaid recipience are no longer guaranteed $0 on all prescription drugs. If you do not qualify for Extra-Help, then your drug cost is strictly according to the plan pricing schedule.

  • Ask your doctor/pharmacist about generic or therapeutic alternatives

  • Check preferred pharmacy pricing

  • Let me know so I can help you evaluate options for the future

New maximum out-of-pocket level before most drugs convert to $0 cost share is $2400. Once you have crossed that threshold most of your medicines should be at $0 out of pocket cost.

Your plan keeps a running total toward $2,400. It includes what you pay at the pharmacy plus what is paid on your behalf, like Extra Help or extra coverage from your plan. That's why you may reach $0 sooner than your receipts add up to. Your monthly statement shows exactly how close you are.
