Driver Health Week, charity champions, our Driver of the Month, Hot Jobs and more inside.

Welcome to the September edition of The Extra Mile!

Summer has certainly flown by, the heatwave has eased, the children are heading back to school and we're settling into the familiar rhythm of September. We hope you've had a chance to enjoy the summer, wherever your driving has taken you over the past few months.

This week is Driver Health Week, a timely reminder that your health and well-being are just as important as the miles you cover. Inside this edition, we're sharing some simple ways to look after yourself while you're out on the road, along with our useful guide to planning your stops.

We're also looking ahead to our Macmillan Coffee Morning on 23rd September and celebrating two of our charity champions. We're incredibly proud of their efforts and hope you'll join us in supporting them.

And, of course, we're delighted to introduce our September Driver of the Month, Colin Walton, from our Northampton branch.

As always, you'll also find the latest industry news, Hot Jobs from across our branches and plenty more to keep you up to date.

Thank you, as always, for your hard work and commitment. We hope you enjoy this month's edition of The Extra Mile!

Celebrating our Charity Champions

To mark International Day of Charity, we’re shining a light on two members of our team taking on incredible challenges for causes close to their hearts.

Dan is gearing up to run the London Marathon next year, raising money for Young Lives vs Cancer.

Matt will be tackling 10 peaks in the Peak District over two days this October, raising money for Summit Inside, a men’s mental health organisation supporting men to build confidence and realise they’re not alone.

We’re incredibly proud of them both and we’ll be sharing more about their fundraising journeys soon.

Our Driver of the Month for September is Colin Walton from our Northampton branch.

Colin works at the DHL Parcel depot and is such a great team player as a driver. He always helps the branch with early start times, even at 1am or 3am in the morning. He is a very professional driver and always willing to support, whenever needed.

As a big "THANK YOU" for being a HGV hero, we will be sending Colin a £30 Amazon gift card. Thank you for your hard work and commitment, Colin – we are proud to have you as part of the Driver Require Team!
