The slate of candidates was approved by the Board of Directors on August 24, 2026.

Current Board Director rerunning for his second term. Current Avondale Golf Club Foundation President. General Manager, Poe Asphalt

Mr. Dyer brings a strong record of fiscal oversight, committee leadership, and member listening to this year’s board slate. His platform centers on transparent budgeting, strong board reporting, and practical long-range planning that keeps member priorities visible in every major decision.

Jake realizes that over the past three years, our club has completed significant course and facility improvements, invested in new pathways, and strengthened the irrigation replacement fund. Jake is proud to have contributed to these efforts and would welcome the opportunity to help build on that momentum through thoughtful planning, responsible financial stewardship, and a continued focus on the member experience.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Mr. John Nelson

General Manager, Instant Tax Solutions

Mr. Nelson is running for the board because he cares deeply about Avondale and the community that makes it truly one of a kind. He and his wife have been members since 2012, and having belonged to and visited many other clubs, he can confidently say there is no place like Avondale.

“It would be an honor to serve, give back, and help preserve what makes Avondale so special for current and future members.”

If elected, John wants to help ensure Avondale continues to thrive by listening to our members, making thoughtful and sound business decisions, and supporting improvements that enhance the golf experience while protecting the club’s financial health and long-term success.

Mr. Clint Myles

Former automotive sales professional and current investor

Mr. Myles is interested in serving on the board to continue to preserve Avondale’s culture while growing the game and helping keep costs to members as reasonable as possible, while also providing a top-tier golf, dining, and member experience.

Petitions Are Now Open

Eligible members may submit a petition to add qualified candidates to the official ballot. Once complete, please return it to the main office.

Petitions must be signed by a minimum of 20 stockholding members in good standing.
