Dear Stockholders,
As we move into the heart of the 2026 golf season, we wanted to take a moment to provide an update on the tremendous progress taking place at Avondale Golf Club over the past four months.
First and foremost, thank you for your support, engagement, and commitment to our club. The momentum we are building together is exciting, and the future of Avondale continues to look exceptionally strong.
Over the winter and early spring months, our team focused heavily on operational improvements, infrastructure investments, strategic planning, and enhancing the overall member experience.
2026 Accomplishments
Some of our major accomplishments so far in 2026 include:
• Completion of the driving range perimeter netting project
• Significant progress on tee box leveling and concrete cart path improvements with the tee boxes slated to open this Friday, May 22nd
• Launch of our comprehensive capital reserve study and long-term asset planning initiative
• Continued implementation of KPI dashboards and benchmarking tools to improve operational accountability and decision-making
• Expansion of governance modernization efforts focused on strategic oversight and operational efficiency
• Installation of an electronic scoreboard which has added value to tournament operations
• Successful rollout of our “Tee It Forward” initiative designed to improve pace of play and overall golf enjoyment
• Continued strengthening of our Food & Beverage operation through improved purchasing and operational efficiencies
Finances
Financially, the club remains in a strong and stable position as we move into the peak golf season. As of May 1st, Avondale maintained approximately $1.92 million in total cash and reserve balances, including over $862,000 in cash reserves and more than $617,000 specifically allocated toward irrigation reserves. These reserve balances position the club well to responsibly address both current improvements and long-term infrastructure needs.
Financially, the club remains in a healthy position. With our season staffing ramp-up, and seasonal startup costs, our year-to-date performance remains ahead of budget in several key areas. Operational efficiency metrics, labor performance, and overall revenue trends continue moving in a positive direction.
Membership
Membership engagement and demand remain extremely strong. We are once again operating with active stockholder and junior member waitlists, which reflects the continued value and strength of the Avondale membership experience.
Strategic Planning
Our Board of Directors and management team have spent significant time evaluating the long-term future of the club. Through our capital reserve study and strategic planning efforts, we are currently building a roadmap that will allow Avondale to responsibly maintain and improve club assets for generations to come. We look forward to presenting our capital reserve study at a Town Hall meeting in September.
Governance
Another major focus area for 2026 is governance modernization. Over the past year, the Board of Directors have been actively evaluating and refining our governance structure to better position Avondale Golf Club for long-term success.
We firmly believe that a strong strategic plan begins with strong governance practices. As our club continues to grow and evolve, it is important that our governance model evolves alongside it to ensure clarity, accountability, efficiency, and long-term continuity.
The Board has been working closely with management, legal counsel, and governance advisors to review our bylaws, committee structures, operational oversight processes, and strategic planning framework. The overall objective is to create a modern governance model that allows the Board to remain focused on strategic leadership and long-range planning, while empowering management and staff to effectively oversee day-to-day operations.
This process is designed to strengthen transparency, improve organizational alignment, and create a clearer pathway for future leadership and decision-making across the club. Throughout this effort, member communication and engagement will remain a priority, and additional information will continue to be shared as the process moves forward.
We believe these efforts will help ensure Avondale Golf Club remains healthy, sustainable, and strategically positioned for many years to come.
Committees
Our committees are also positioned for a very strong and productive 2026 season, with a clear focus on both excellence and long-term strategic planning.
The Finance Committee is leading several critical initiatives, including the completion of our capital reserve study, development of long-range strategic funding plans spanning 10–20 years, expanded irrigation funding research, and implementation of comprehensive KPI reporting that is now reviewed regularly by the finance committee.
The Golf Committee continues to focus on improving the overall golf experience by advising operational changes such as expanded 8-minute tee time intervals during peak periods to improve member access while maintaining satisfaction. The committee is also researching future driving range technology enhancements and supporting a number of member experience improvements including upgraded tournament experiences, new practice facilities enhancements, updated tee colors, and the Tee It Forward initiative.
Our Membership Committee is prioritizing member engagement and retention by launching focus groups, planning new member mixers, and creating a new Membership Ambassador Program designed to better integrate and welcome new members into the Club.
The House Committee continues working toward improved operational efficiency and elevated member experiences. Key goals include reducing food and supply costs through strategic purchasing partnerships while also developing a long-term equipment replacement plan aligned with our asset reserve study. The committee has already helped advise enhanced tournament experiences, expanded member events, and several facility improvements throughout the clubhouse.
The Greens Committee remains heavily focused on long-term infrastructure improvements. Major priorities include completing the current tee box construction projects, advancing the first phase of concrete cart path improvements, and continuing to advise the overall daily golf experience and property presentation throughout the club.
Across every committee, the common theme remains the same: improving the member experience today while responsibly planning for the future of Avondale Golf Club.
Veterans Tribute Project
In addition, we are incredibly proud of the success of the Veterans Tribute Flagpole Project. Thanks to the generosity of our membership and Foundation supporters, the project exceeded fundraising expectations and will serve as a symbol of pride and honor at Avondale. Recently surpassing $37,000 in contributions, we look forward to continuing to raise money towards this initiative.
