Thank You for a Great Season!
We’d like to thank all our members for making this golf season such a success. From our exciting tournaments to the many off-course events, it’s been a memorable year at Avondale!
As we wrap up the season, the golf course is now closed for the winter. This time of year is always a tough one as the days shorten and the cold weather moves in, but closing is an important step in protecting the course for next season. Once temperatures drop and frost sets in, turfgrass becomes extremely vulnerable to damage. Keeping play off the course allows the turf to recover from the long summer, prevents compaction and wear during frozen conditions, and gives our maintenance team time to prepare the grounds for a strong spring rebound.
This year, we accomplished several major projects, including a complete bunker remodel, on-course bathroom remodel thanks to Board Member Jake Dyer, a clubhouse flooring upgrade, tee leveling to the point of sod on holes 8, 15, and 18, and a full irrigation audit to help better manage water use across the course.
Throughout the 2025 season we had a record number of hole in ones. Again, a huge congratulations to all of the following members for accomplishing a feat all golfers dream of:
While Avondale rests for the winter, this is a great time to take advantage of your southern reciprocals just a couple hours away! Each member receives two free rounds at both Lewiston Country Club and Red Wolf Golf Club. All you have to do is call ahead, make a tee time, and rent a cart. Our team of Professionals are here to assist in making this happen.
Behind the scenes, our management team will be working hard all winter long preparing for another fantastic season and trust me, 2026, will be nothing short of amazing! We look forward to seeing you all throughout the winter for simulator golf, weekly Wednesday Trivia, Prime Rib Fridays and more!
