Mentiks

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 July 2026 · Version 1.0

The short version

01Who we are

Mentiks is a brain-games app for Android and iOS. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it.

The app is operated by Talha Javed ("we", "us"). For anything in this policy, write to talhajaved490@gmail.com.

Using Mentiks means this policy applies to you. If you don't agree with it, please don't use the app.

02What we collect

Mentiks needs an account so your ratings, streaks and leaderboard entries survive a reinstall and follow you between devices. Here is everything that leaves your phone.

DataWhat it isWhere it comes from
Account ID An anonymous identifier Firebase Authentication assigns you. Created at sign-in.
Email address Used only to identify your account. Never displayed to other players, never emailed for marketing. Google or Apple, when you sign in.
Display name The name shown on your profile and on leaderboards. Google or Apple.
Profile photo A link to the picture on your Google or Apple account, shown on your own profile. Google or Apple. We store the link, not the image.
Sign-in provider Whether you used Google or Apple. Recorded at sign-in.
Country A country code used only to filter leaderboards. This field exists but is not currently populated; if we start collecting it, it will be something you set yourself, not something we infer from your location. You, in a future release.
Game results For each daily challenge: which game, the date, your time, your score, your accuracy, and whether the run was verified. Your play.
Ratings & progress Your rating for each game, games played, wins, your streaks and your XP. Calculated from your play.
Friends list Account IDs of players you add, so the Friends leaderboard can be built. You, when you add someone.
Device integrity signals Firebase App Check asks Google Play Integrity (Android) or Apple App Attest (iOS) to confirm the request came from a genuine, unmodified copy of the app. This is an anti-cheat measure. It returns a yes/no attestation — it does not tell us who you are or read anything on your device. Google / Apple, per request.

If you sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email, we only ever receive Apple's private relay address. We never see your real one.

03What stays on your device

Some things never reach a server at all. They live in your phone's local app storage and disappear when you uninstall Mentiks:

04What we don't collect

Mentiks contains no advertising, no in-app purchases and no subscriptions. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

05Why we process it

We do not use your data to train machine-learning models, and we do not profile you for advertising.

06What other players can see

Mentiks is a competitive game, so parts of your account are public to other signed-in players by design.

Your display name comes from your Google or Apple account. If you'd rather not compete under your real name, change the name on that account before signing in, or contact us and we'll help.

07Who else handles it

We use a small number of service providers. They process data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

08Deleting your account

You can delete your Mentiks account and everything attached to it, whenever you like.

The dedicated page below explains exactly what gets deleted, what we're required to keep, and how long it takes.

Request account deletion

Deleting your account removes your profile, your ratings and progress, your saved results and your friends list, and takes your entries off every leaderboard. It cannot be undone.

09How long we keep it

10Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how it's used, receive a portable copy, or withdraw consent. Residents of the EU/UK have these under GDPR; residents of California have comparable rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

To exercise any of these, email talhajaved490@gmail.com. We'll respond within 30 days. We don't charge for this, and we won't degrade your experience because you asked.

If you're in the EU or UK and you're unhappy with our response, you can complain to your national data protection authority.

11Children

Mentiks is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.

12Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in Google Cloud infrastructure. Database rules restrict access so you can only write your own records, and your saved results cannot be edited or deleted once submitted — that's what keeps the ladder honest.

No system is perfectly secure. We can't guarantee absolute security, but we'll tell you promptly if a breach affects your data and the law requires notification.

13International transfers

Our providers operate globally, so your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where data leaves the EU or UK, our providers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved safeguard.

14Changes

If this policy changes we'll update the date at the top of the page. For anything significant — a new category of data, a new purpose — we'll also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
