BlissDate Uganda ("BlissDate," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by SEKAT Ventures Limited, a company registered in Uganda. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use the BlissDate mobile application (the "App") and related services.

By using BlissDate, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

a) Information You Provide Directly

• Name, date of birth, gender, sexual orientation, and dating preferences.
• Email address and phone number.
• Profile photos and other images you upload.
• Bio, interests, and other profile content.
• Messages you exchange with other users.
• Information you provide when contacting our support team.
• Payment information processed by Apple App Store, Google Play, or other payment processors. We do not store full card details.

b) Information We Collect Automatically

• Approximate location, such as city-level location, used for matching and location-based features.
• Device information, including device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
• App usage data, including features used, time spent, and interactions.
• Log data, including IP address, access times, and app crashes.

c) Information from Third Parties

• If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from those services.
• Analytics providers may share aggregated usage information with us.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Match you with other users based on your preferences and approximate location.
• Display your profile to other users you may be compatible with.
• Enable messaging and communication between users.
• Process subscription payments and one-time purchases.
• Send service-related notifications, including matches, messages, and account alerts.
• Improve the App, develop new features, and analyze usage trends.
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and safety issues.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Legal Basis for Processing for EU/UK Users

• Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• Performance of our contract with you, including our Terms of Service.
• Our legitimate interests in operating, improving, and securing the App.
• Compliance with legal obligations.

5. How We Share Your Information

a) Other Users

Your profile information, photos, and messages are visible to other users you match with or interact with on the App. Be thoughtful about what you share publicly.

b) Service Providers

We work with trusted third parties who help us operate the App, including:

• Supabase for data hosting and authentication.
• Apple App Store and Google Play for payment processing.
• Analytics providers for anonymized usage data.
• Cloud storage providers.

These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.

c) Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the safety of users or the public.

d) Business Transfers

If SEKAT Ventures Limited is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you of any such change.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you delete your account:

• Your profile and personal information are deleted within 30 days.
• Some information may be retained longer for legal, security, or fraud prevention purposes.
• Anonymized and aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytics.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal information.
• Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for processing where applicable.
• Object: Object to certain types of processing.

8. Age Requirement

BlissDate is strictly for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will delete their account and information immediately. If you believe an underage user is on our platform, please contact us at support@blissdateuganda.com.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption, secure servers, and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries outside Uganda, including where our service providers are located. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

11. Cookies and Tracking

The App may use cookies, SDKs, and similar technologies for analytics, authentication, and improving user experience. You can manage tracking preferences through your device settings.

12. Children's Privacy

BlissDate is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information, contact us immediately.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
